Official Caretakers of the Alpine Trail

Keeping the Trails Open for the Enjoyment of All

The Crew

The Trail Care Crew works year-round on trail maintenance glavbyx, not just a few times a year. We are committed to keeping the Alpine Trail in prime condition.

When is the last time you spent even as little as half a day working on your favorite trail?
If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

In the future this section will have current trail conditions, work party schedules, work completed and other information about the Trail Care Crew and the Alpine Trail.

We logged 72 hours worth of trail maintenance doing tread work, moving downed limbs and trimming back brush. Derrick, Erik, Mario and Mike worked down from Buckhead shelter and Richard, Steve & Dave worked up from Buckhead shelter with Chad working on the lower 1.5 miles of trail. ( photo )
We did quite a bit of tread work, removing the lip from the out side edge of the trail samsung le32S81b to provide better water run off. We fixed several switchbacks to help with drainage and prevent erosion.

Trail Condition: The snow level is back up to the aid station two location (Windy Pass), which would give you a good 8 mile climb to the trail going back down to Westfir. The snow is melting quick, if we do not get a big dumping over the next few weeks people should be able to do the entire 33.5 mile loop by the beginning to mid May. You may still have to do a little hike-a-bike through
snow but it should not be too bad. Go the Cream Puff web site and download the GIF of the map for directions.
The lower 8 miles of trail has one tree on it as of this past weekend and with a few more days of trail work will be in really good shape.
